After six decades of life, I’ve come to realize a profound truth: humans make life complex!
Have you noticed how we resort to finding a complex solution to a simple problem?
We often turn to the web, social media, or even professionals, only to end up overwhelmed and frustrated. In these moments, the simplicity of the solution eludes us.
We end up focusing on the complexity of the issue rather than looking for a simple solution, leaving us to adopt draconian measures to fix it.
Consider this: A constantly tired person might demand iron level checks, ignoring obvious sleep deprivation. Or someone with knee pain opting for steroid injections, not realizing it’s merely due to inactivity and muscle tone loss.
Remember, a doctor can’t dictate our lifestyle choices. These seemingly complex issues often require no external intervention. It’s often about seeing what’s right in front of us—a lesson I’ve learned the hard way.
The key lies in embracing simplicity. Einstein once said, “The five ascending levels of intellect: Smart, Intelligent, Brilliant, Genius, Simple.”
I think at many levels, the new ‘simple’ is being ‘sophisticated’.
Being sophisticated is the highest level of art. And I think adopting simplicity and becoming sophisticated is a milestone of achievement for a human.
As we navigate life’s complexities, let’s not forget: our children are watching. They learn from what they see, not just what they’re told.
